Occupying a former art gallery, the store is designed to provide a thoughtful and inspiring shopping experience—one that values individuality, quality, and timeless style over fast fashion and passing trends.

Epitome of Edinburgh had worked with a previous agency but found it difficult to expand and adapt their online presence without incurring significant costs. Their in-store POS system didn’t communicate with their e-commerce site, forcing the team to manually update product quantities on a daily basis. At the same time, their website’s UX was falling behind competitors, and aspirations to future-proof the site were limited by the complexity and expense of their existing setup.
We began by identifying ways to streamline both their operations and customer experience. Rather than trying to patch over legacy systems, we proposed moving Epitome from their in-house e-commerce platform onto Shopify. This opened up opportunities for growth and flexibility, while providing a centralised system where POS, online orders, and marketing could all be managed together.
We migrated Epitome to Shopify, delivering a more intuitive, user-friendly site with improved UX and UI design. Alongside the digital build, we implemented a fully integrated EPOS system, including physical installation. This ensures that stock, sales, and orders were automatically synchronised across channels. To make sure the transition was smooth, we provided one-to-one training, empowering the Epitome team to manage and adapt their own system confidently moving forward.
Epitome now has complete control of their e-commerce ecosystem, without being tied to a single agency for updates or improvements. Their new Shopify site not only improved customer experience but also eliminated operational inefficiencies like manual stock management. Importantly, the move has created long-term cost savings: the efficiencies and independence gained mean that the investment in the new platform will effectively pay for itself within two years, compared with the ongoing costs of their previous setup.
This project underscored the value of simplifying systems to unlock growth. By shifting to Shopify, Epitome gained both independence and scalability, enabling them to focus less on workarounds and more on delivering their unique retail experience; all while achieving measurable savings that strengthen the business for the future.
